Deadly traffic accident in Cherkasy Oblast: two TCC soldiers and a civilian killed

A fatal traffic accident occurred in the Zvenyhorodsky District of the Cherkasy Region. According to preliminary reports, three people were killed in the accident—two servicemen from the Zvenyhorodsky District Military Registration and Enlistment Office and one civilian. The accident was reported to the Cherkasy Regional Police and the Cherkasy Regional Military Registration and Enlistment Office, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
Two more people, a soldier and a civilian, were hospitalized with injuries.
The accident occurred in the Zvenyhorod district; law enforcement officers were on the scene, and the circumstances of the collision are being investigated.
What happened in the Zvenyhorod district
The traffic accident occurred on April 30, 2026, near the village of Knyazha in the Zvenyhorodsky district.
The regional National Police reported that police are on the scene and all circumstances of the accident are being determined. According to preliminary data, passenger cars collided.
The Cherkasy Regional Operational Command and Joint Staff confirmed the deaths of military personnel and a civilian as a result of the accident.
“On April 30, 2026, a traffic accident occurred near the village of Knyazha in the Zvenyhorodsky district, resulting in the death of a civilian and two servicemen from the Zvenyhorodsky Regional Traffic Control Center and Special Forces,” the statement reads.

The Regional Command Center also reported that another soldier and a civilian were hospitalized.
“Another servicemember and a civilian were transported by ambulance to a medical facility with varying degrees of injuries,” the statement noted.
According to local social media posts, military commissars were transporting the man to the military commissariat.
The deceased servicemen, as part of combat units, participated in the defense of the homeland in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions, the Cherkasy Regional TCC and SP noted.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident
Law enforcement officials are currently investigating all details of the accident: the causes of the collision, the speed of the vehicles, the technical condition of the vehicles, the actions of the drivers, and possible traffic violations.
The Cherkasy Regional Police noted that investigative and operational teams were working at the scene.
The final legal classification of the incident will be provided after all circumstances have been established.
