Which is healthier: salty or sweet breakfast: nutritionist explains

Sweet or savory breakfast is a question often asked by dieters. In fact, it’s not the taste that matters, but the overall quality and consistency of the meal. Fitness trainer and nutritionist Viktor Mandzyak spoke about this in an interview with the "Komersant Ukrainian" YouTube channel.
According to him, the statement that sweets in the morning raise blood sugar levels, which is harmful to the body, is not true.
“If people are afraid that sweets in the morning raise glucose levels and are harmful, this is a myth. After any meal at any time of the day, sugar levels rise. But this is temporary, and it is absolutely normal,” Mandziak explained.
He emphasized that modern science has proven that satiety and appetite are regulated not only by glucose levels.
“In the stomach, food sends a signal to the brain, and the intestines secrete satiety hormones – GLP-1, cholecystokinin, insulin, glucagon. This makes us full, regardless of whether you choose a sweet or savory breakfast,” the expert explained.

The expert advises not to be afraid to include your favorite dishes in your morning diet, but to follow a simple rule of consistency.
“If you have several dishes in one sitting, start with the less tasty ones and leave the dessert for the end. This way, a sweet breakfast will not harm you and will bring pleasure,” Mandziak summarized.
We would like to remind you that breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day, because it sets the tone for the whole day. But there is still a debate about what to choose: sweet cereal, toast with jam, or scrambled eggs with vegetables? Nutritionists emphasize that the difference between a “sweet” and “savory” breakfast is important not only for energy, but also for blood sugar levels and hormonal balance.
