Ukrainian MPs Larysa Bilozir and Mykola Kucheruk visited the Center for Eye Microsurgery, where they familiarized themselves with the facility’s operations and spoke with the team of specialists led by the center’s director, Lyubov Ihorivna Denysiuk. During the visit, the lawmakers noted that the center is one of the leading state-run ophthalmological institutions, where complex surgeries are performed and patients’ vision is restored even in the most severe cases. Larysa Bilozir reported this on Facebook, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
“This is a facility of national importance where they don’t just treat patients—here, they restore people’s vision and give them a chance at a full life,” noted MP Larysa Bilozir.
The medical facility places special emphasis on assisting military personnel. According to lawmakers, the center responds promptly to requests regarding wounded defenders and provides them with necessary treatment without delay.
“Even in cases where other countries—such as the United Kingdom or Germany—refuse to treat patients, our doctors find solutions and restore vision after the most severe injuries. These are true miracles performed daily by the hands of Ukrainian medical professionals,” Bilozir emphasized.
Also present during the visit was a serviceman from Illashivka who has been on the front lines since the first days of the full-scale invasion. After being wounded, he has serious vision problems but continues to carry out combat missions even with partial vision loss.
“He was immediately taken for an examination—without delay or unnecessary formalities. This is exactly how the system should work when it comes to our defenders,” the MP noted.
