Requirements for shipping to the U.S. have changed: new rules

10 July 16:18

Starting July 8, 2026, U.S. customs authorities will change the procedures for clearing certain categories of goods imported into the country. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing “Nova Poshta.”

As the operator noted, from now on, for certain regulated products—including specific children’s goods—it will be mandatory to submit the Certificate of Compliance (CoC) electronically during customs clearance. If the certificate is not submitted along with the customs declaration, the shipment may be detained by U.S. Customs, returned to the sender, or require additional processing.

If you regularly sell goods to the U.S., we recommend that you:

“To avoid delays during customs clearance, we recommend checking in advance whether your goods are subject to the new requirements and preparing the necessary certificates of conformity (CoC). This will help prevent the shipment from being returned or incurring additional costs for reprocessing,” Nova Poshta emphasized.

The new requirements do not apply to non-commercial shipments from private individuals, such as personal or used items.
