On July 1, rolling blackouts will resume in all regions of Ukraine
1 July 09:47
On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, rolling blackouts will once again be implemented in all regions of Ukraine. The restrictions are being introduced due to the difficult situation in the power grid and a sharp increase in consumption amid hot weather. This was reported by NEC “Ukrenergo, ” according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
For residential consumers, hourly power outage schedules are tentatively set to be in effect from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in a single rotation.
During the same period, power restriction schedules will be applied to industry and businesses.
When the power will be cut on July 1
According to preliminary instructions from Ukrenergo, consumption restrictions will be in effect during the evening hours:
- 5:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. — hourly power outage schedules for residential and other consumer categories;
- 5:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. — power restriction schedules for industrial enterprises and businesses;
- The scope of restrictions for residential consumers is one rotation.
One rotation does not mean that every address will be without electricity for the entire five hours.
Distribution system operators divide consumers into groups and sub-groups. Therefore, the duration and specific time of the outage depend on the region, the settlement, and the group number.

Why Power Outage Schedules Were Reinstated
Energy officials cite a sharp increase in electricity consumption due to the heat as the main reason for the restrictions.
When the air temperature exceeds 30°C, the use of:
- air conditioners;
- fans;
- refrigerators and freezers;
- industrial cooling equipment;
- climate control systems in stores and offices;
- pumping equipment;
- other high-power electrical appliances.
During the day, solar power covers part of the load. However, as evening approaches, solar output drops rapidly, while residential consumption remains high.
That is why the most challenging period for the power grid will be from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
What Does One Power Outage Rotation Mean?
Hourly power outage schedules are divided into rounds and subrounds. Each round covers a specific number of consumers and designated addresses.
Applying a single rotation means that a certain portion of consumption in the region must be restricted simultaneously.
Distribution system operators may rotate power cuts among different groups to comply with the dispatch center’s instructions and distribute the restrictions evenly.
Therefore, in a single area, one group may be without power for two hours, while another may be without power for three or four hours.
Check your regional power company’s website for the exact schedule.
How to Help the Power Grid
Utility companies are asking consumers to reduce their use of high-power electrical appliances from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
It is advisable to reschedule the following activities for other times:
- doing laundry;
- heating water with a water heater;
- running the dishwasher;
- charging an electric vehicle;
- using the electric oven;
- ironing;
- drying clothes.
Avoid turning on several high-power appliances at the same time, even during hours when power has been restored.
