The restoration of the “Mystetskyi Arsenal” National Cultural, Art, and Museum Complex, which was damaged by Russian shelling, will cost at least tens of millions of hryvnias, said Director General Olesia Ostrovska-Lyuta, according to a press conference reported by “Interfax-Ukraine,” as relayed by "Komersant Ukrainian".
“At the ‘Mystetskyi Arsenal,’ approximately 2,000 square meters of the roof and attic have been damaged. Of course, all of this needs to be restored. We are working on it,” said Ostrovska-Lyuta.
At the same time, she noted that no museum exhibits were damaged, and the entire museum collection is intact.
“However, we understand that the restoration process will take some time. It will obviously cost at least tens of millions of hryvnias, perhaps more. We don’t know yet; an assessment of the damage is currently underway,” the CEO stated.

She noted that the Complex is beginning negotiations with potential donors—primarily international organizations—regarding opportunities to support and finance the restoration of the Arsenal.
According to Ostrovska-Lyuta, from a technical standpoint, it is both possible and necessary to complete the restoration of the Arsenal’s roof before winter.
As for the operations of the “Mystetskyi Arsenal,” plans are already in place to resume programming activities this summer in the undamaged section.
As a reminder, as a result of the Russian attack on Kyiv on Monday night, the National Cultural, Art, and Museum Complex “Mystetskyi Arsenal” was damaged by a Russian “Shahed” drone strike. In particular, a large portion of the roof of the left wing of the Old Arsenal was severely damaged.
