Drones attacked a port and an oil depot in Tuapse, Russia, overnight, causing oil tanks to catch fire. Smoke from the fire is visible from dozens of kilometers away. The fire continues to burn.

This was reported by ASTRA, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

ASTRA writes that the plume of smoke from the fire at the Tuapse oil refinery is visible from dozens of kilometers away.

It is noted that the smoke from the fire is visible even from a camera at the “Zhemchuzhina” hotel in Sochi—it is located 78 km from the Tuapse refinery. Another photo was taken from a camera near the village of Vardane, located 54 km from the refinery.

The Tuapse Oil Refinery is among the ten largest in Russia and is export-oriented, with a petroleum product refining capacity of approximately 12 million tons per year. The plant is part of Russia’s energy infrastructure and is involved in supplying the enemy’s armed forces. It produces various grades of automotive gasoline, straight-run gasoline (a feedstock for petrochemicals), diesel fuel, and fuel oil.

On the night of April 16, air defense systems were active in the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation; explosions and fires were reported in Tuapse at the port and oil depot. Online reports indicated that at least two oil tanks at the Tuapse refinery were on fire. Local authorities confirmed a drone attack. It is also known that numerous debris fell on the premises of enterprises in the area of the seaport.

It should be noted that prior to this, the Defense Forces struck the Tuapse Oil Refinery on the night of December 31. At that time, the primary oil refining unit and the integrated deep-processing units for petroleum products were damaged.
