Oil imports to Ukraine: the number of suppliers fell to a record low

10 October 2024 20:06

In September 2024, the number of importers of petroleum products in Ukraine fell to the lowest level in two years. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the media Enkorr.

In September, petrol was imported by 9% (100 companies) fewer traders than in August, diesel fuel by 10% (156 companies), and liquefied gas by 19% (104 companies).

The decrease in the number of people willing to import fuel in September is due to a significant surplus of fuel on the market. In August, ahead of the introduction of new, higher excise rates, traders increased imports by 23-42%, depending on the type of fuel. Importers of petrol (42%, up to 166 thousand tonnes) and liquefied gas (41%, up to 124 thousand tonnes) increased their imports the most, breaking the records of the last 2 years.
