Exchange rates as of June 8: The dollar and the euro have fallen in value

8 June 08:56

The National Bank of Ukraine has published the official exchange rates for Monday, June 8. At the start of the new week, the U.S. dollar and the euro fell slightly in value, while the Polish zloty remained at its previous level, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"

How the dollar exchange rate changed

The US currency fell by 2 kopecks on June 8. Compared to the previous banking day, the dollar exchange rate dropped from a high of 44.35 UAH per dollar.

Even a slight decline in the official dollar exchange rate traditionally attracts interest among Ukrainians, as this currency remains one of the main benchmarks for the foreign exchange market.

The euro also lost value

The European currency also showed a slight decline. On June 8, the NBU set the exchange rate at 51.63 UAH per euro, which is 3 kopecks less than before.

Despite this, the euro continues to hold above the psychological threshold of 51 hryvnia, remaining one of the most expensive foreign currencies on the Ukrainian market.

The zloty remained unchanged

Unlike the dollar and the euro, the Polish zloty held its ground. The National Bank kept its official exchange rate at 12.19 UAH.

The stability of the zloty is important for many Ukrainians who work, study, or have financial ties to Poland.
