Summer Rush to the Carpathians: “Ukrzaliznytsia” Increases the Number of Trains
17 June 05:26
Ukrzaliznytsia is adding extra trains to the Carpathians and Transcarpathia due to rising passenger demand for mountain destinations. The company is reallocating railcars to the most popular routes and increasing the number of trips to Rakhiv and Solotvyno. This was reported on Ukrzaliznytsia’s website, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
Tickets for the additional trains are already available for purchase on the official website and via the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile app.
Which additional trains has Ukrzaliznytsia scheduled?
Additional trains No. 213/214 and No. 251/252 will run between Kyiv and Rakhiv in the direction of the Carpathians.
Departures from Kyiv are scheduled for June 17, 19, and 21. In the opposite direction, from Rakhiv to Kyiv, trains will depart on June 18, 20, and 22.
Ukrzaliznytsia has also scheduled additional trips on the Kyiv–Solotvyno route. Train No. 203/204 will depart from Kyiv on June 19 and 21, and from Solotvyno on June 20 and 22.
Why is Ukrzaliznytsia launching additional trains?
The reason is a sharp increase in demand for trips to the Carpathians and Transcarpathia during the summer season. Ukrainians are increasingly planning vacations in the mountains, so tickets to popular destinations are selling out quickly.
The most popular routes remain those to Rakhiv, Solotvyno, Yaremche, Vorokhta, Tatariv-Bukovel, Yasinya, Kvasiv, and other towns that serve as convenient gateways to the Carpathians.
Where You Can Travel on the Additional Trains
Additional trains to Rakhiv are especially important for tourists planning a vacation in the Carpathians. Via Rakhiv and nearby stations, passengers can reach popular mountain destinations in Zakarpattia and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
The Kyiv–Solotvyno route also enjoys steady demand. It is convenient for those traveling to Zakarpattia, particularly to the salt lakes, health resorts, tourist cottages, and border regions.
Where to Buy Tickets
Tickets for the additional trains are now available:
- on the official Ukrzaliznytsia website;
- on the UZ mobile app;
- at train ticket offices.
Passengers are advised not to delay purchasing tickets, as summer demand for Carpathian destinations is traditionally high, and seats on additional trains may sell out quickly.
Ukrzaliznytsia is updating its schedule starting June 28
In addition to extra trains in June, Ukrzaliznytsia is updating its train schedule starting June 28. The company is adjusting the schedule to meet seasonal demand.
The new schedule includes 12 additional trains, faster routes, an increase in the number of daily trains, and expanded service to the Carpathians and Transcarpathia.
