Despite the war, corruption issues, and legislative instability, foreign investors continue to operate in Ukraine and are even expanding their production. The country’s macrofinancial stability remains a key factor. Maksym Tsymbal, first deputy chairman of the board at Pivdenny Bank, spoke about this in an interview with the "Komersant Ukrainian" YouTube channel.

According to him, for foreign businesses, investment decisions are based on three main criteria.

“For any foreign investor in any country, three things are paramount: macrofinancial stability, legislative stability, and the stable functioning of institutions free from corruption,” the banker noted.

At the same time, he acknowledged that Ukraine still faces serious challenges in the latter two areas.

“The situation with the latter two is complicated. Legislation is constantly changing, institutions operate erratically, and the problem of corruption remains very acute,” said Tsymbal.

At the same time, he noted that macrofinancial stability has been the key factor allowing foreign businesses to maintain their interest in Ukraine even amid the war.

“Macrofinancial stability is what’s working quite well for us. And it is precisely this foundation that allows foreign investors to maintain their focus and desire to stay and work in Ukraine,” he concluded.
