1,500 kilometers from the border: The SBU struck an oil pumping station in Bashkortostan

8 July 15:18

The Security Service of Ukraine struck the “Cherkasy” production and dispatch station in the Republic of Bashkortostan. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the SBU press service.

According to the agency, the facility is located 1,500 kilometers from Ukraine’s state border.

“The special operation was carried out as part of the task set by the President of Ukraine to systematically reduce the military and economic potential of the Russian Federation,” the statement reads.

At least eight SBU drones were deployed against the facility. The strike caused a fire in the area of the tank farm and at the station’s production facilities.

The Cherkasy Oil Distribution Station is one of the key facilities in the “Transneft–Ural” system. The terminal handles the receipt, accumulation, storage, and transfer of light petroleum products from the Ufa oil refining complex to main petroleum product pipelines. Nearly 2 million metric tons of petroleum products are transported through this facility each year, and the tank farm consists of 27 tanks with a total capacity of over 385,000 cubic meters.

Damage to such facilities significantly complicates the logistics of supplying petroleum products to central and eastern regions of Russia and also negatively impacts the functioning of the fuel transportation system that meets the needs of the aggressor state’s military-industrial complex.

The SBU emphasizes that it is operating throughout Russia, and that there are no longer any safe regions for the occupier, even deep in the rear.

“We are consistently locating and destroying the infrastructure that supplies the enemy’s army with fuel, logistics, and resources for the war. Every long-range strike forces the aggressor to pay an ever-higher price for the war against Ukraine,” emphasized SBU Head Yevhen Khmara.

As a reminder, on the night of July 8, the Russian city of Saratov came under attack by drones. According to reports from local authorities and Russian Telegram channels, the explosions triggered a fire at the Saratov Oil Refinery, which is owned by Rosneft.
