MHP has signed an agreement to acquire a stake in the Greek company Th. Nitsiakos AVEE—the largest chicken producer in Greece and one of the largest players in the local meat market. The agreement provides for a long-term partnership between the parties and MHP’s phased acquisition of a 70% stake in the company over several years, the company’s press service reported, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
“The agreement provides for a long-term partnership between the parties and MHP’s phased acquisition of 70% of the company over several years. The parties also agreed on the possibility of further increasing MHP’s stake to 100% in the future. The completion of the transaction is subject to standard conditions, including obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals,” the statement said.
Th. Nitsiakos AVEE is a vertically integrated group headquartered in Ioannina, founded in the 1970s. It operates in Greece in the production and distribution of poultry and other meats, as well as animal and pet feed. As of 2025, the company’s revenue amounted to approximately €540 million.
The agreement with Th. Nitsiakos AVEE is another step in the development of MHP’s international business, helping the group maintain stability and consistently invest in the company’s growth in Ukraine.
“Th. Nitsiakos AVEE is a company with over 50 years of experience in the Greek food industry that has built a strong vertically integrated business. I am convinced that together we will build an effective partnership that will strengthen the international arm of the MHP Group and, as a result, allow our business in Ukraine to remain resilient and grow. From 2022 to 2025 alone, we have invested approximately 30 billion UAH in its development and will continue to do so. After all, it is important for us to remain a responsible Ukrainian company that provides tens of thousands of jobs, supports the economy, and is a reliable supplier of quality products to consumers,” noted MHP founder and CEO Yuriy Kosyuk.
Over the years of full-scale war, MHP has opened a new plant in Dnipro, Ukraine, for the production of value-added products, acquired “Ukrainian Meat Farm” for its further development, and launched the production of biomethane. For several years in a row, MHP has been among the leaders in terms of investment volume and is the largest taxpayer in the agricultural sector. Along with the development of its international business, MHP continues to make a significant contribution to the Ukrainian economy, support the Armed Forces, and maintain a team of 32,000 employees in Ukraine.
