The central warehouse of the logistics company Denka Logistics was destroyed during a Russian attack on Thursday night, resulting in the loss of approximately 800,000 books published by BookChef. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the publisher.

“Most of the print run—approximately 800,000 books—has been lost. These are books that authors, translators, editors, illustrators, designers, printers, managers, and logistics specialists worked on. They represent years of work by a large number of people. Most importantly: all our people are alive! That is what we are holding on to right now,” the statement reads.

The company’s press office notes that BookChef is temporarily suspending all promotions with partner stores until the number of reprints stabilizes.

“For the time being, we are unable to accept, process, and ship orders as usual. This may cause difficulties and delays even with new book print runs. We ask for your patience and understanding as we work to resolve our logistics issues,” said the company’s CEO, Oleksandr Kirpichov.

Despite everything, BookChef emphasized that the publishing house continues to operate.

“We know how difficult this night was for everyone. And that is precisely why we are continuing to do our part: publishing new books, investing in the development of Ukrainian book publishing, and supporting the economy. The best way to support and help us right now is simple: buy our books. Every order is a real contribution to replenishing our stock and ensuring that Ukrainian books continue to be published, no matter what,” BookChef emphasized.

As a reminder, on July 4, 2025, the warehouse of the publishing house and online store “Nash Format” in Kyiv was damaged as a result of a nighttime Russian shelling.
