Oleg Serga is leaving PrivatBank after 25 years: who will handle the bank’s PR?

PrivatBank spokesperson Oleg Serga announced that he is leaving the bank. His last day of work will be August 17. Serga made the announcement in a message to his colleagues and partners, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
Serha has served as PrivatBank’s press secretary for over 25 years. During this time, he represented the bank in the media and communicated about its development, innovations, new products, and operations during times of crisis.
“I have been blessed with the great opportunity to serve as PrivatBank’s press secretary for over 25 years, speaking to the world on behalf of our bank and team about our successes, innovations, values, and views on the development of the bank and the sector,” Serga wrote.

He also mentioned the period leading up to and during the bank’s nationalization. According to him, the team’s confidence in the bank’s future and active communication with customers played a key role in this process.
“We stood together—both during the development of our most important services and markets and our successes, and during difficult times—believing in the bank’s future and conveying that belief to our customers. This ultimately became a decisive factor in the successful nationalization of the bank,” he noted.
Among the key projects over the years, Serga highlighted the launch of Apple Pay in Ukraine, which, he said, significantly changed Ukrainians’ payment habits, as well as the bank’s other digital products and innovations.
He also highlighted the bank’s performance during the full-scale war—ensuring uninterrupted operations, providing loans to businesses and the public, and implementing social projects.
Serha announced that following his departure, Roman Ivanyuk and Iryna Sayevych will handle PR and media relations.
“August 17 is my last day at the bank, but, as we all know very well, there’s no such thing as a former PrivatBank employee,” he concluded.
