Five contacts in two months: The Office of the President revealed what has changed following Zelenskyy’s talks with Trump

Serhiy Kyslytsia, First Deputy Head of the Office of the President, stated that a series of direct contacts between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and U.S. President Donald Trump throughout June and July yielded “extraordinary” practical results.
Kyslytsia wrote about this on social media platform X, commenting on the results of the Ukrainian delegation’s latest visit to the United States, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
Five contacts and three face-to-face meetings
According to Kyslytsia, Zelenskyy and Trump held at least five conversations in June and July. Three of them were in-person meetings.
A representative of the Office of the President stated that the intensity of the talks made it possible to significantly deepen the dialogue between Ukraine and the United States.
“The level and depth of the dialogue and its practical results are extraordinary,” Kyslytsia emphasized.
The diplomat also highlighted Zelenskyy’s meeting with more than 60 U.S. senators, which the Ukrainian president held during his trip to Washington.
According to the head of state’s official website, discussions in the Senate focused on increasing pressure on Russia, defense support, and further cooperation between the two countries.
The U.S. Is Committed to Helping End the War — Kyslytsia
Kyslytsia called the talks in Washington a strong signal of the American partners’ determination to help end the war.
At the same time, this assessment reflects the position of the Ukrainian side. No reports have yet emerged regarding the conclusion of a specific peace agreement or the approval of a final plan to end hostilities.
According to the First Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, it is the Ukrainians who most desire an end to the war. At the same time, Kyiv is ready to consider steps that could compel Russian President Vladimir Putin to engage in substantive negotiations.
“Anything that can bring Putin to the negotiating table is worth a try,” Kyslytsya said.
Witkoff and Kushner May Visit Ukraine
Separately, Kyslytsia expressed hope that representatives of the U.S. president’s team—Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner—would visit Ukraine.
Reports of a possible first visit by Witkoff and Kushner to Kyiv previously appeared in the Financial Times. According to the publication, they agreed to travel to Ukraine as part of diplomatic efforts to end the war.
No official date for the potential trip has been announced yet.
What Zelenskyy Discussed with Trump
The presidents’ most recent meeting took place in the Oval Office at the White House. After the talks, Zelenskyy described the meeting as productive and said that the two sides discussed the diplomatic process and the strengthening of Ukraine’s air defense.
One of the key topics was licenses to manufacture interceptor missiles for the Patriot air defense systems. The presidents also reviewed other defense and diplomatic initiatives, the details of which were not disclosed publicly.
After the meeting, Trump also stated that it had gone very well.
