Weather in Ukraine on June 16: Rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds almost everywhere

On Tuesday, June 16, a moist air mass will once again dominate Ukraine. Short-lived showers are expected in almost all regions, with thunderstorms in some areas. This was reported by meteorologist Natalka Didenko, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
Where to expect rain on June 16
According to the forecaster’s prediction, brief showers with thunderstorms will occur across nearly the entire territory of Ukraine. At the same time, in the western regions and in the south, precipitation will more often alternate with sunny spells, so the rain there will be less intense.
The weather will remain unstable, so rapid changes are possible throughout the day: from sunny spells to brief downpours and thunderstorms.
What will the wind be like
On June 16, the wind will be predominantly westerly and moderate. In western and northern Ukraine, stronger gusts are possible—up to 12–14 meters per second.
In Kyiv, the wind will also be westerly and gusty. Natalka Didenko described it as “brash,” warning that it may feel stronger during rain or thunderstorms.
Air temperature in Ukraine
Temperatures on June 16 will be comfortable for mid-summer. Most regions are expected to see 19–24 degrees during the day.
It will be slightly warmer in eastern and southern Ukraine—there, the air will warm up to 22–26 degrees.
The meteorologist described this temperature as “rahat-lukum,” referring to mild and comfortable summer warmth without intense heat.
Weather in Kyiv on June 16
Rain is expected in the capital on Tuesday, with thunderstorms possible in some areas. Air temperatures in Kyiv are expected to range from 18 to 20 degrees.
Due to strong westerly winds and precipitation, Kyiv residents should bring umbrellas or raincoats and be careful near trees, advertising structures, and temporary structures.
When the weather will improve
According to Natalka Didenko’s forecast, it will get warmer in Ukraine toward the weekend, and there will be less rain. Temperatures by the end of the week could rise to 24–29 degrees.
So the coming days will still be wet and unstable, but by the end of the week, the weather will gradually become more summer-like.
