Ukrainian drones struck a large Russian oil refinery in Orsk

On the night of August 11, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the “Orsknefteorgsintez” oil refinery in Russia’s Orenburg Region. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing a statement from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
A fire broke out on the grounds of the strategic facility as a result of the strike. The extent of the damage is currently being assessed.
“Orsknefteorgsintez is one of the largest oil refineries in the Orenburg region and an important enterprise in Russia’s fuel and energy sector,” the statement reads.
The plant has a capacity of approximately 6 million metric tons of crude oil per year.
The facility produces automotive gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel. The refinery also produces fuel oil, bitumen, and other petroleum products.
“The Ukrainian Armed Forces will continue to systematically carry out measures aimed at stopping the armed aggression of the Russian Federation,” the General Staff said in a statement.
Earlier, Robert (Madyar) Brovdi, commander of the Special Forces Service, wrote about fires at the refinery following visits by Ukrainian drones.

As previously reported by the Exilenova Telegram channel, a hydrocracking complex with a capacity of 1.6 million metric tons per year was reportedly hit in Orsk. This is one of the key facilities in the plant’s modernization program, designed for the processing of vacuum gas oil and the production of light petroleum products.
The governor of the Orenburg Region announced the implementation of the “Kilim” plan in Orsk within a 100-kilometer radius. Temporary restrictions on aircraft arrivals and departures have also been imposed at Orsk Airport.
As a reminder, the Komsomolsk Oil Refinery in the Khabarovsk Krai of the Russian Federation was also struck by Ukrainian drones overnight.
The refinery is one of the main suppliers of petroleum products to Russia’s Far East. Its design capacity is 8.5 million metric tons of crude oil per year.
In addition, the Wildberries logistics complex caught fire overnight in the Novousmansky District of the Voronezh Region. Local residents reported explosions, and the company confirmed the evacuation of its employees.
