Rain and strong winds are expected across Ukraine: weather forecast for April 23

On Thursday, April 23, the weather in Ukraine will deteriorate due to the influence of atmospheric fronts. Forecasters predict rain in most regions, strong northwesterly winds with gusts of up to 15–20 m/s, and a drop in temperatures. This is reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center and forecaster Natalka Didenko, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
It will be coolest in the northeast, while the air will warm up slightly more in the south and far west.
What will the weather be like in Ukraine on April 23?
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center’s forecast, there will be mostly no precipitation across the country on the night of April 23, while rain is expected in most regions during the day. In western regions, only light precipitation is possible in some areas, while in the northern part and in the Carpathians, rain mixed with wet snow is forecast in some places.
The wind will be westerly and northwesterly, 7–12 m/s, and gusts of 15–20 m/s are expected across most of the country during the day.
Natalka Didenko also warned that atmospheric fronts will arrive in Ukraine on April 23, causing the weather to worsen. According to her, light to moderate rain is expected during the day, and one of the main features of the day will be strong winds, with storm-force gusts in some areas.
What will the temperature be on April 23?
The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center forecasts that nighttime temperatures will range from 1–6 degrees Celsius, while daytime temperatures in most regions will be 6–11 degrees.
In the south and far west of the country, the air will warm up to 12–17 degrees, while in the northeast it will be cooler—only 4–9 degrees.
The coldest weather on April 23 is expected in northeastern Ukraine, where daytime temperatures in some areas will not exceed 4–9 degrees. It will be slightly warmer in most central, northern, and eastern regions—where temperatures are forecast to be mostly 6–11 degrees.
As before, it will remain warmest in the south and far west, where daytime temperatures may rise to 12–17 degrees.
Weather in Kyiv on April 23
No significant precipitation is forecast for Kyiv at night, but rain is expected during the day. According to the weather service, temperatures in the capital will be around 7–9 degrees in the morning, rising to approximately 9–10 degrees as the day progresses.
A yellow wind warning from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center was also in effect for Kyiv.
Natalka Didenko reported that in Kyiv on April 23, temperatures are expected to be 3–5 degrees at night and 7–9 degrees during the day, accompanied by rain and strong winds.
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, cool weather will persist at least through April 23–25.
