Who Is Olga Selikh
Olga Selikh headed Ukraine’s diplomatic mission in the Sultanate of Oman.
As ambassador, she was responsible for developing political, economic, and humanitarian relations between Ukraine and Oman.
As a reminder, in March, Selikh faced criticism on social media over her attire at an Iftar dinner. Some commenters noted that the Ukrainian diplomat’s appearance was not appropriate for the occasion. According to an official post, the diplomat attended the event—held at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Sultanate of Oman—wearing white tight-fitting pants and a white blouse with a gold shawl.

The ambassador also wore her hair down and was wearing red lipstick.
In addition, Selikh was criticized for having neither practical nor theoretical diplomatic experience: she studied foreign economic management at the Rivne Institute of Slavic Studies and law at the Yaroslav the Wise Academy.
The ambassador’s previous professional activities are also completely unrelated to diplomacy. Previously, Olga Selikh was involved in business, and companies affiliated with her won government tenders.
Among the positions Selikh has held at various times are: head of the “BK Velychny Podil” housing cooperative, vice president for relations with government agencies and business at the public organization “Business Women of Ukraine,” and chair of the board at the “Liberty Lux” homeowners’ association.
The president did not appoint a new Ukrainian ambassador to Oman in these decrees.

The Foreign Ministry emphasized that at the time the information about his alleged voluntary resignation was released, the diplomat had already been nominated for recall.
