US official explains why Ukraine is not allowed to strike deep into Russia

US intelligence and the Pentagon have recommended that official Washington not change its position on allowing Ukraine to strike deep into Russia with US long-range weapons, as this will bring more problems than benefits. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Fox News.
The media outlet cites an American official as its source of information, whose name is not disclosed for reasons of anonymity.
According to the official, according to an analysis by the US intelligence community and the US Department of Defence, a change in policy on strikes deep into Russia would not have a strategic impact and would not change the course of the war, particularly because there are only a few targets within the 300-kilometre range of the Army’s tactical missile system (ATACMS). After all, back in August, the Russian Armed Forces redeployed more than 90% of their aircraft beyond the range of the ATACMS.
In addition, this approach is also due to the fact that Ukraine does not have enough ATACMS, and the Pentagon cannot provide the Armed Forces with additional weapons without compromising US military readiness.
Nevertheless, Fox News reported that the Biden administration is considering additional sanctions in response to the deployment of North Korean troops to Russia. The United States is currently in talks with its allies and partners about how best to move forward, the source added.
