12 May 10:44
As of May 12, some consumers in six regions of Ukraine remain temporarily without power. In five regions, this is due to hostilities and damage to energy infrastructure; in one other region, it is due to severe weather. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
Where there is no power on May 12
Due to hostilities, some consumers remain without power in the following regions:
- Donetsk;
- Mykolaiv;
- Sumy;
- Chernihiv;
- Kharkiv.
In another region— Zakarpattia Oblast —the power outage was caused by severe weather. Repair crews are working to restore power.
Power workers are working around the clock
The Ministry of Energy notes that emergency repair work is ongoing around the clock. Energy workers are working around the clock to restore power to all customers as quickly as possible.
The situation remains most difficult in frontline regions, where energy infrastructure is regularly damaged by Russian shelling.
Two energy workers killed in Donetsk region
According to the Ministry of Energy, two energy sector workers were killed in Donetsk Oblast as a result of an enemy attack on an energy facility.
This demonstrates once again that restoring power supply in frontline regions remains dangerous not only technically but also physically for repair crews.

Will there be power outages on May 12
The Ministry of Energy emphasized that no electricity consumption restrictions are expected on May 12. Consumers are advised to check the official websites of their regional power companies for any updates.
Ukrenergo also reported that no power outages are expected on Tuesday, May 12, but Ukrainians are asked to limit the use of high-power electrical appliances in the evening hours—from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Why Ukrainians are being asked to conserve electricity
Despite the absence of blackout schedules, the power grid continues to operate under conditions of war, regular attacks, and increased load during peak hours.
That is why consumers are urged to use electricity sparingly in the morning and evening. This helps reduce the load on the system and makes the work of power engineers easier.
