Five regions are without power: where power outages are occurring on April 21 and what the Ministry of Energy is saying
21 April 11:47
On April 21, due to Russian shelling of energy infrastructure, some consumers in the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions are temporarily without power. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
The Ministry of Energy noted that energy workers are operating in an enhanced mode, and restoration work is continuing around the clock to restore power to all customers as quickly as possible.
Which regions are without power on April 21
As of April 21, power outages caused by enemy strikes have been reported in the following regions:
- Donetsk region
- Zaporizhzhia region
- Sumy region
- Kharkiv region
- Chernihiv Oblast.
This specifically refers to the consequences of shelling of energy infrastructure facilities. This means that the outages are not related to scheduled maintenance but to an emergency situation following Russian attacks.
Where else are there power issues due to bad weather
In addition to the consequences of Russian attacks, additional power outages have been reported in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. There, seven settlements have been left without power due to bad weather.
Repair crews are already working to restore the power grids.
Will there be power outage schedules on April 21
Despite localized power outages in several regions, no nationwide power outage schedules are expected on April 21.
That is, as of now, there are no plans to impose hourly restrictions on residential and industrial consumers.
At the same time, the situation in the power grid may change, so Ukrainians are advised to follow updates on the official websites of their regional power companies.
What energy officials are asking of Ukrainians
Ukrenergo has urged consumers to use electricity sparingly in the evening hours, especially between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM, when the load on the system is highest.
These recommendations apply even in the absence of nationwide blackout schedules, as they help reduce the load on the power grid during peak hours. This is particularly important given the ongoing Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.
What this means for consumers
For most Ukrainians, April 21 should pass without planned outages, but in certain regions affected by shelling or severe weather, local power outages are possible.
That is why the most important thing right now is to check announcements from local distribution system operators and regional power companies.
