Budanov hinted that there would be revenge for his wife

The head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, said that “retaliatory actions” should be expected in the Russian Federation for the poisoning of his wife. He said this in an interview with the French newspaper Liberation, reports 
“My wife is already feeling better. It is difficult to say whether it was an attempt on my life, because I have already survived many assassination attempts and I think I will survive more than one. I think that in the near future you will see retaliatory actions on the territory of the Russian Federation. Everyone will understand this,”
– said the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
The poisoning of Budanov’s wife was reported on 28 November 2023. She was diagnosed with heavy metal poisoning. The media reported that Budanov and several other DIU employees were poisoned with arsenic and mercury.
