Following an explosion at a foam plastic factory, residents of the Rivne region are urged to take safety precautions

In the Rivne region, in the village of Varkovychi in the Dubno district, a powerful explosion occurred on the afternoon of August 11, followed by a fire at a foam plastic manufacturing plant. Due to the smoke, local residents were urged to close their windows and follow safety precautions.

This was reported by the Varkovychi Rural Territorial Community, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

According to the village council, the fire broke out on the premises of a foam plastic manufacturing plant. The cause of the fire and the circumstances of the explosion have not yet been reported.

According to eyewitnesses, at least two explosions were heard, after which thick black smoke rose above the plant’s grounds. The sounds of the explosions could be heard dozens of kilometers away—specifically in Dubno and Rivne.

Due to the fire, community residents were urged to remain calm and follow safety guidelines. In particular, people are advised to close their windows to prevent smoke and potential harmful substances from entering their homes.

Parents were also urged not to leave children unattended during the emergency.

Rescue workers are on the scene, and information regarding possible casualties and the extent of the damage is being verified.
