The dollar continues to fall, while the euro has surged: exchange rates as of May 7

The National Bank of Ukraine has set the official exchange rates for Thursday, May 7. The U.S. dollar continued to decline, while the euro rebounded sharply after an earlier drop. The updated data has been published on the regulator’s website, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
According to the NBU, on May 7, the hryvnia strengthened against the dollar but weakened against the euro.
Dollar exchange rate as of May 7
On Thursday, May 7, the National Bank set the official dollar exchange rate at: 1 U.S. dollar — 43.85 UAH.
Compared to the previous day, the dollar fell by 12 kopecks. On May 6, the official exchange rate for the U.S. currency was 43.97 UAH.
Thus, the dollar continued its downward trend, while the hryvnia partially strengthened against the U.S. currency.
Euro exchange rate as of May 7
The European currency, on the other hand, rose sharply.
On May 7, the NBU set the official euro exchange rate at: 1 euro — 51.61 UAH
This is 22 kopecks more than the previous day. On May 6, the official euro exchange rate was 51.39 UAH.
After several days of decline, the euro resumed its upward trend, while the hryvnia weakened against the European currency.

On Ukraine’s interbank foreign exchange market as of 4:00 p.m. on May 6, the hryvnia-to-dollar exchange rate stood at:
- 43.85/43.88 UAH per dollar.
The exchange rate against the euro was:
- 51.62/51.63 UAH per euro.
This confirms the overall picture: the dollar is falling, while the euro is showing a noticeable rise.
Bank exchange rates on May 6
On Wednesday, May 6, the average dollar exchange rate at Ukrainian banks fell by 10 kopecks to 44.17 UAH per dollar.
The average selling rate for the US dollar at banks was 43.70 UAH per dollar.
The average euro exchange rate at banks fell by 3 kopecks to 51.85 UAH per euro.
The euro could be sold at an average rate of 51.15 UAH per euro.
