Two massive craters near the children’s hospital and a fire covering 1,200 “squares”: what is known about the attack on Kyiv

The Russian attack on Kyiv on the night of August 11 caused damage to the grounds of a children’s hospital and destroyed a storage facility. Two craters formed on the hospital grounds after the strike, but the children and medical staff took shelter in time. A large fire broke out at another location, and one person was injured.

Russian forces attacked the capital with ballistic missiles. Rescue workers were deployed to several locations simultaneously.
A missile struck the grounds of a children’s hospital
One of the areas where the effects of the Russian attack were recorded was the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv.
According to the State Emergency Service, the strike occurred on the grounds of one of the children’s hospitals.
The strike created two craters and damaged the windows of the medical facility as well as a gas pipe.
Emergency services arrived at the scene. Gas service specialists quickly contained the gas leak.
Most importantly, the children and medical staff were in shelters during the attack. Thanks to this, there were no fatalities or injuries at this location.

A warehouse caught fire at another location
Serious consequences of the Russian strike were also reported at another address in Kyiv.
The strike caused the destruction of a warehouse and a massive fire.
According to rescue workers, the fire spread over an area of about 1,200 square meters.
The fire was initially contained and later completely extinguished.
One person was injured as a result of the attack at this location. The injured person was handed over to medical personnel.

Emergency services continue to work at the sites of the strikes and inspect the damaged structures. Information on the final consequences of the attack is being clarified.









On the night of August 11, the Russian army once again used ballistic weapons against the capital. Before the explosions, the Air Force warned Kyiv residents of the missile threat.
This is not the first attack on the capital region in recent days. On the night of August 8, Russian forces also launched strikes on Kyiv and the surrounding region.
