Up to 31°, but with scattered showers: What will the weather be like in Ukraine on August 11?

On Tuesday, August 11, dry and warm weather will persist in most regions of Ukraine. At the same time, residents of parts of the western and northern regions should be prepared for brief showers and thunderstorms. Daytime temperatures across the country will mostly reach 26–31°C.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"

At the same time, forecasters have issued a warning: an extreme fire danger level is expected across much of the country from August 11–13.

Where will rain and thunderstorms occur on August 11?

According to forecasters, no significant precipitation is expected across most of Ukraine on Tuesday.

The exceptions will be the western and northern regions, where brief showers and thunderstorms are possible in some areas during the day.

The wind will be predominantly southwesterly at 7–12 m/s.

Thus, following a period of intense August heat, temperatures will remain fairly high, though the forecast for August 11 no longer calls for extreme temperatures.

Temperatures in Ukraine on August 11

At night, air temperatures in most regions will range from 13 to 18°C.

It will be warmer in the south of the country, where nighttime temperatures may reach 22°C.

During the day, temperatures of 26–31°C are forecast across virtually all of Ukraine.

Thus, the difference between nighttime and daytime temperatures in some regions may be quite noticeable.

What will the weather be like in Kyiv?

No precipitation is expected in the capital on the night of August 11. A brief shower is possible during the day.

The air temperature in Kyiv at night will be 16–18°C, and during the day it will warm up to 28–30°C.

A southwesterly wind of 7–12 m/s is expected.

Forecast for the Kyiv Region

It will also be mostly dry overnight in the Kyiv region. During the day, brief showers are forecast in some areas, and thunderstorms are possible throughout the region.

Temperatures at night will range from 13 to 18°C, and during the day from 26 to 31°C.

Thus, despite possible localized precipitation, no significant drop in temperature is expected in the capital region.

Ukraine has been warned of an extreme fire hazard

A separate warning from meteorologists concerns the high risk of wildfires.

According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, an extreme fire hazard is expected across much of Ukraine from August 11–13.

On August 11–12, this level is forecast for Ukraine, with the exception of the Cherkasy region, and on August 11—also for the Lviv, Zakarpattia, Chernivtsi, and Kyiv regions.

By August 13, an extreme fire danger level will prevail throughout Ukraine.

These weather conditions indicate an increased risk of fires breaking out and spreading rapidly in natural ecosystems.
