“Google Tax”: How Much Did Foreign Companies Pay to Ukraine’s Budget This Year?

In the first seven months of 2026, non-resident companies providing electronic services to Ukrainian users paid 11.3 billion hryvnia in “Google tax” to the state budget. This is 1.5 billion hryvnia more than during the same period last year, according to "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the State Tax Service.
Foreign companies transferred 92.8 million euros and 149.4 million U.S. dollars.
Among the largest taxpayers are global digital giants Google, Apple, Valve, Meta, Sony, Etsy, and Netflix.
The pool of taxpayers is also expanding. Since the beginning of 2026, 18 more non-residents who provide electronic services to individuals in Ukraine have registered as VAT payers. As of August 1, there were already 159 such taxpayers.
A non-resident is required to register as a VAT payer if, over the past 12 months, the total value of transactions involving the supply of electronic services within Ukraine’s customs territory exceeds the equivalent of 1 million UAH.
