Russia’s Largest Petrochemical Complex Is on Fire: Ukrainian Drones Have Traveled Over 2,000 km

Ukrainian drones struck the “ZapSibNeftekhim” petrochemical complex in Tobolsk, Tyumen Oblast, Russia. The drones traveled over 2,000 km to reach their target. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Special Operations Forces mission: Russia’s largest petrochemical complex is on fire. Over 2,000 km to the target. Deep Strike units of the Special Operations Forces, in coordination with the ‘Chernaya Iskra’ insurgent movement on Russian territory, struck ‘ZapSibNeftekhim’ in Tobolsk, Tyumen Oblast, Russia,” the statement reads.
According to the Special Operations Forces, fires and destruction were observed on the complex’s grounds following the strike.

“ZapSibNeftekhim” produces basic raw materials
“ZapSibNeftekhim” is Russia’s largest petrochemical complex and one of the country’s strategic chemical industry enterprises.
The complex in Tobolsk produces basic raw materials for a wide range of industrial products. These materials are used, in particular, in manufacturing related to the Russian Federation’s defense-industrial sector.
“Special Operations Forces continue to implement Ukraine’s far-reaching sanctions against Russia’s military-economic sector,” the SSO concluded.
According to an OSINT analysis by ASTRA, drones attacked the central gas fractionation unit of Russia’s largest petrochemical complex—ZakhSibNaftokhim, which is owned by the Sibur holding company. The mayor confirmed the drone attack on the region and reported that several drones had crashed on the grounds of one of the region’s industrial enterprises. However, he did not specify which enterprise was involved.
What Led Up to It
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Ukraine had adjusted some of its long-range operations against Russia and approved new ones. According to him, such strikes are intended to help Ukraine maintain the initiative in the war.
According to the SBS, key targets of Ukraine’s long-range strikes against Russia include the fuel industry, defense enterprises, and the logistics infrastructure that supports them.
