The director of the “Gomin” choir has been appointed to a new position: Yatsenko has taken the helm of the Veriovka Choir

Vadym Yatsenko, director of the “Gomin” choir and Honored Artist of Ukraine, has been appointed the new general director and artistic director of the Hryhoriy Veryovka National Honored Academic Ukrainian Folk Choir.
Ukrainian Minister of Culture Tetiana Berezhna announced this on her Facebook page, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
“Vadym Yatsenko belongs to a generation of Ukrainian artists who combine respect for tradition with a modern vision for the development of culture. Vadym is a Doctor of Arts, Honored Artist of Ukraine, and chief choirmaster of the Lviv National Opera,” Berezhna wrote.
She also noted that Vadym Yatsenko will continue to serve as artistic director of the Lviv Municipal Choir “Homin.” He has held this position since August 2023.
“He also leads the ‘Homin’ choir—one of the most remarkable choral projects of recent years, which has proven that Ukrainian choral culture can be modern, emotional, accessible to a wide audience, and capable of filling concert halls. I believe that under Vadym Yatsenko’s leadership, the Veriovka Choir will gain new momentum for creative projects and international partnerships. It will also strengthen the voice of Ukrainian culture in the world,” the Minister of Culture added.

As a reminder, Vadym Yatsenko announced his resignation as chief choirmaster of the Solomiya Krushelnytska Lviv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater two days ago.
The choirmaster wrote on Facebook.
“I’m leaving the theater, but now the theater will never leave me. I love you all! Don’t cry. I’ll come back—I’ll check on you! […] What’s next will be even more interesting!” Yatsenko said.
In his post, he also recalled his move to Lviv, his first steps at the theater, and thanked his colleagues. Yatsenko did not elaborate on his decision to resign or his future career plans.
Vadym Yatsenko had been working at the Lviv Opera as a choirmaster since 2018. He is also the founder of the “LvivOpera Chamber Choir.” Since 2020, he has served as the theater’s acting chief choirmaster, and since December 2021, as the chief choirmaster of the Lviv National Opera. Since August 2023, Vadym Yatsenko has been the artistic director of the Lviv Municipal Choir “Homin.”
The Hryhorii Veryovka National Honored Academic Ukrainian Folk Choir of Ukraine is a professional choral ensemble founded on September 11, 1943, in Kharkiv. It was founded by the husband-and-wife team of Hryhorii Veriovka and Eleonora Skrypchynska.
