The office of Polish President Karol Nawrocki stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s introduction of a bill to establish a National Pantheon is “the next stage of escalation.” Polish Presidential Spokesperson Rafal Leskiewicz made this statement on the air on Jedynka, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

“President Zelenskyy announced the submission of a bill on the National Pantheon—this is the next stage in the escalation of actions by the Ukrainian authorities following the decision in late May to name one of the military units in honor of the ‘heroes of the UPA,’” the Polish President’s Office quoted Leskiewicz as saying on the social media platform X.

On June 28, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy submitted this bill to the Verkhovna Rada as a matter of urgency. According to the president, such a pantheon would aim to honor Ukrainians who “fought for Ukraine and inspired Ukraine throughout different centuries and eras.” At the same time, Zelenskyy noted, “no one will ever tell us how to live, how to speak, whom to love, whom to be grateful to, or which heroes to honor.”
