Algeria’s New Markets: What Products Does Ukraine Plan to Export?

21 April 16:47

Ukraine and Algeria have stepped up efforts to expand the list of agricultural products eligible for export, particularly Ukrainian chicken, beef, and dairy products.

This was reported by the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection following the results of a business mission by a Ukrainian delegation to Algeria, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

“We are working not only on opening markets but also on ensuring that Ukrainian businesses have predictable operating conditions. Today, Ukraine already has agreed export categories to Algeria: milk and dairy products, beef, as well as cattle for fattening and breeding purposes,” said Oleg Osian, First Deputy Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.

During meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Algeria, the parties discussed accelerating the certification of Ukrainian dairy enterprises.

Special attention was paid to the procedures for opening exports of poultry meat and processed poultry products.

As a reminder:

By the end of 2025, Ukraine had secured access for domestic exporters of animal and plant products to 22 new foreign markets, a record figure during the full-scale war.

Algeria remains one of the key markets in North Africa for the Ukrainian agricultural sector.
