During his visit, the athlete found himself in the middle of an unexpected incident: an evacuation was ordered at the U.S. Department of Defense headquarters due to a hazardous materials alert. He reported this on his social media accounts, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
Usyk shared a video from the Pentagon
In the video that Oleksandr Usyk posted on Instagram, people can be seen leaving the building after the alarm was sounded. The Ukrainian boxer did not hide his surprise at the situation.
“We arrived at the Pentagon. And now there’s some kind of attack on the Pentagon. An alarm has gone off and we have to evacuate. What’s going on?” Usyk commented.
It later became clear that this was not a real attack, but a false alarm triggered by a hazardous materials detector.

What happened at the Pentagon
According to media reports, several floors at the Pentagon were temporarily evacuated after a sensor system allegedly detected the possible presence of a hazardous substance.
The signal in question could have indicated the presence of the bacterium that causes anthrax. After an investigation, it turned out that the alarm was false, and the cause was a technical malfunction in the system.
As a result of the incident, part of the building was cordoned off, and people were temporarily evacuated from the building. After an inspection, the threat was not confirmed.
Usyk is in Washington
Oleksandr Usyk is currently in the U.S. The Ukrainian boxer visited the Pentagon and shared a photo from the U.S. Department of Defense building on his social media.
The visit took place on the eve of a major sporting event in Washington. On June 14, the White House is set to host UFC Freedom 250, organized to mark the 250th anniversary of the adoption of the U.S. Declaration of Independence.
According to US media reports, UFC Freedom 250 is set to take place on the South Lawn of the White House and is expected to be one of the most high-profile sporting events of the year.
