Russia’s largest oil refinery, the Omsk Refinery, owned by Gazpromneft, halted crude oil processing on July 6 due to a drone attack, two industry sources told Reuters, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

According to them, the AVT-10 primary oil refining unit at the plant, which has an annual capacity of 22 million metric tons, was damaged and caught fire. It accounted for 38% of the refinery’s capacity, or 24,500 metric tons per day.

Also, according to Reuters sources, the AVT-11 unit—designed to process 24,000 metric tons of crude oil per day (37% of the refinery’s capacity) and 3,400 metric tons of gas condensate (5% of the refinery’s capacity).

According to the agency’s sources, the AVT-11 unit itself was not damaged, but the inter-unit pipelines that support its operation were damaged. They estimate that the AVT-11 will be able to resume processing in the near future.

Starting Tuesday, the Omsk Refinery, which accounts for 8% of Russia’s total oil refining capacity, suspended the sale of wholesale batches of gasoline and diesel fuel on the St. Petersburg Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange.
