Eight regions were left without power following Russian attacks: the current situation in the power grid

Due to Russian shelling of energy infrastructure, some residents of eight regions of Ukraine have been temporarily left without power. At the same time, the Ministry of Energy emphasizes that, as of July 22, there are no plans to implement rolling blackouts for consumers. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
Which regions are without power
According to the Ministry of Energy, emergency power outages have been recorded in eight regions of Ukraine as a result of hostilities and Russian attacks.
Consumers in the following areas are partially without power:
- Dnipropetrovsk Oblast;
- Donetsk Oblast;
- Kyiv Oblast;
- Mykolaiv Oblast;
- Odesa Oblast;
- Sumy Oblast;
- Kharkiv Oblast;
- Kherson Oblast.
Utility workers are carrying out emergency repair work as soon as the security situation allows.
Will there be power outage schedules?
The Ministry of Energy noted that as of July 22, hourly power outage schedules for residential consumers are not expected.
At the same time, Ukrainians are urged to follow official updates from their distribution system operators (oblenergo), as any changes to the situation will be announced on their official websites.
Energy workers are on the job around the clock
The Ministry of Energy reported that repair crews are working around the clock to restore power as quickly as possible.
Restoration work is ongoing around the clock, but its pace depends on the security situation in the areas that have come under fire.
Due to constant Russian attacks, the energy infrastructure remains one of the enemy’s main targets, which complicates repair efforts.
Ukrainians have been urged to conserve electricity
Although no restrictions are currently forecast, the Ministry of Energy recommends that citizens use electricity sparingly.
This applies primarily to morning and evening peak consumption hours, when the load on the power grid is highest.
The ministry emphasizes that responsible consumption helps maintain the stable operation of Ukraine’s power grid and reduces the risk of additional strain following Russian attacks.
