In June 2026, the Ukrainian light commercial vehicle market showed rapid growth. The largest increase was recorded in the segment of new vans and minibuses, with imports more than doubling compared to the same period last year. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing data from the Automotive Market Research Institute.
Imports of new commercial vehicles rose by more than 100%
According to analysts, in June 2026, the Ukrainian market for light commercial vehicles (LCVs) weighing up to 3.5 metric tons totaled 3,945 vehicles.
The segment of new imported vehicles showed the most dynamic growth:
- 726 first registrations;
- 104.5% year-over-year;
- 33.7% compared to May.
Experts attribute this growth to the active renewal of vehicle fleets by large logistics companies, postal operators, and retail chains, which are increasingly turning to leasing programs.

Which cars were the most popular
In the new light commercial vehicle segment, the models in highest demand were:
- Toyota Hilux
- Renault Master
- Citroën Berlingo
- Peugeot Landtrek
- Volkswagen Crafter.

The Chinese Chery Himla also made it into the top ten, indicating that Chinese manufacturers are gradually strengthening their position in the Ukrainian commercial vehicle market.
Used vans remain the backbone of the market
Despite record growth in new vehicle imports, domestic resales of used LCVs continue to account for the largest share of the market.
In June, there were:
- 2,037 transactions;
- 51.6% of the total market;
- 4.9% compared to June 2025.
The most commonly sold and purchased vehicles by Ukrainians were:
- Mercedes-Benz Sprinter;
- Renault Master;
- GAZ-3302.
Experts attribute the popularity of the GAZ-3302 to its affordable price and low maintenance costs.
Imports of used cars also increased
Imports of used light commercial vehicles totaled 1,127 first registrations, or 28.6% of the market.
Compared to the same period last year, this segment grew by nearly 20%.
The most popular models were:
- Renault Master;
- Mercedes-Benz Sprinter;
- Renault Trafic;
- Renault Kangoo;
- Volkswagen Crafter.
Ukrainian manufacturing is also showing positive growth
Local production and the retrofitting of commercial vehicles based on imported chassis also continue to grow.
In June, Ukrainian companies produced 55 vehicles, a 3.8% increase from the previous month.
Analysts note that the main drivers of the market remain companies operating in the fields of delivery, logistics, e-commerce, and retail. It is these companies that are actively investing in upgrading their fleets despite the challenging economic situation.
