Russians Attacked a Parking Lot and a Gas Station in Sumy: The Aftermath of the Strikes

On the night of June 29–30, Russian occupation forces attacked civilian targets in Sumy twice. An enemy “Molniya” drone struck a parking lot in the Kovpakivskyi district of the city, and in the morning, a gas station in the Zarichnyi district came under attack. This was reported by Serhiy Kryvosheyenko, head of the Sumy City Military Administration, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"

“Overnight in Sumy, an enemy ‘Molniya’ UAV struck a parking lot in the Kovpakivskyi district,” said the head of the Sumy City Military Administration.

A fire broke out on the premises after the strike. Rescue workers managed to contain the blaze.

According to preliminary information, the strike damaged:

  • four trucks;
  • a utility building;
  • the parking lot area.

The extent of the damage is still being assessed by the relevant authorities.

In the morning, Russian forces struck a gas station

Following an overnight attack, Russian forces struck Sumy again.

This morning, an enemy drone struck a gas station in the Zarichny district of the city.

Damage was reported on the gas station premises.

According to preliminary reports, there were no injuries or fatalities.

What is known about the victims

As of the time the first official information was released, there were no casualties from the nighttime and morning attacks.

At the same time, following the Russian strikes, experts continue to assess the damaged areas.

Residents are urged not to approach the impact sites and not to touch the drone debris.

Russia has intensified its strikes on gas stations in Sumy

Over the past few months, Russian troops have repeatedly attacked gas stations and parking lots in Sumy.

According to Suspilne Sumy, the Russians struck gas stations in the city at least nine times during the previous period alone.

During previous attacks, the following were damaged:

  • gas station buildings;
  • cars;
  • nearby residential buildings;
  • road infrastructure.

In some cases, Russian strikes caused fires and injured civilians.

Earlier, the Russians attacked another parking lot

On April 27, Russian drones struck parking lots in the Kovpakivsky district of Sumy twice.

During the first strike, 15 trucks and two buses were damaged. After the second attack, seven more vehicles were damaged.

According to preliminary reports, no one was injured at that time.
