Power outages are scheduled across Ukraine today: when the schedules will take effect

On Tuesday, June 30, regions across Ukraine may implement schedules for hourly power outages. The restrictions are expected to occur in the evening, when the load on the power grid reaches its peak due to the heat. This was reported by Ukrenergo, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
According to updated reports from distribution system operators, schedules for residential consumers may be in effect from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in a single rotation. For industry and businesses, power restriction schedules are expected to be implemented during the same period.
Energy officials warn that the situation may change, so the exact time of a power outage at a specific address should be checked on the website or official pages of your regional power company.
When will the power be cut off on June 30?
Projected period for restrictions:
- from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. — hourly power outage schedules for all consumer categories;
- from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. — power restriction schedules for industry and businesses.
For residential customers, power outages are expected to affect no more than one group at a time.
This does not mean that every home will be without electricity for the entire six hours. During this period, regional power companies will take turns cutting off power to specific groups of consumers according to regional schedules.
Why the Power Outage Schedules Were Reinstated
Energy officials cite a significant increase in electricity consumption due to the hot weather as the main reason for the restrictions.
When temperatures are high, Ukrainians use the following on a massive scale:
- air conditioners;
- fans;
- refrigerators;
- freezers;
- cooling systems in offices and shopping centers;
- industrial climate control equipment.
The highest load is recorded in the evening hours, when active use of cooling systems is added to normal household consumption.

What Does a Single Power Outage Rotation Mean?
Consumers in each region are divided into rounds and sub-rounds.
One rotation means that a portion of the consumers included in the schedules will be restricted at the same time. Other rotations must receive electricity during this time.
After a specified period ends, one group may be reconnected, while another is disconnected.
The exact duration will depend on:
- the state of the power grid;
- the level of consumption;
- available generation;
- commands from Ukrenergo;
- the situation in a specific region;
- potential emergency damage.
