In the village of Tarasivka near Oleshky in the Kherson region, on June 10, 2025, a well-known agrarian and former deputy of the Kherson Regional Council, Viktor Nagrebetsky, was found dead. The body was found in his house, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports, citing the Kherson Typical newspaper.

Circumstances of death

According to local residents, Nahrebetsky probably committed suicide because of his long struggle with cancer. At the same time, there is an alternative version that he could have been driven to suicide.

Social media reported a conflict between Nahrebetskyi and Ivan Lytvynenko, the husband of Natalia Lytvynenko, the head of the Tarasivka village council. According to rumors, pressure from an occupier’s accomplice could have caused the tragedy.

According to local sources, Ivan Lytvynenko was detained by the Russian occupiers and sent to the basement. The reason was probably financial fraud and misappropriation of property attributed to the family of collaborators in the temporarily occupied village.

Who is Viktor Nahrebetskyi?

Viktor Nahrebetskyi was a well-known figure in the Kherson region. In 2006-2015, he was twice elected as a deputy of the Kherson Regional Council from the Party of Regions, heading the specialized agrarian commission. From 2010 to 2014, he headed the Kherson Regional Athletics Federation.

Nahrebetskyi was also a director of Iskra and a co-founder of several organizations:

  • Oleshky District Organization of Hunters and Fishermen “Fauna Revival” together with Gurami Apostolidi, a business partner of the traitorous ex-MP Oleksiy Zhuravko.
  • The Naberezhnyi 2018 service cooperative together with Yevhen Ryshchuk, then deputy head of the Kherson Regional State Administration.

Relations with the occupiers

Nahrebetskyi is a member of the Myrotvorets database, where he is accused of assisting the Russian occupiers, in particular in the sale of stolen agricultural products.

However, there is no reliable information about his activities during the occupation.

The situation in Oleshky

The Oleshky community remains under the control of the Russian occupiers. The exact number of residents who remained in Oleshky and neighboring settlements is unknown.

The region continues to suffer from the consequences of the occupation, and local residents face pressure and repression.
