“Epicenter” Is on Fire in Zaporizhzhia Following Explosions: Footage of a New Russian Strike Has Emerged

On the night of August 12, Russian occupation forces attacked Zaporizhzhia. A private home in the city was also damaged, and about 1,200 residents were left without electricity. Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported on the consequences of the attack, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
The first explosions in Zaporizhzhia were heard at night. Subsequently, regional authorities reported damage to a private home, and later—a strike on a shopping center.
Ivan Fedorov did not officially name the retail chain. However, photographs from the scene show the facade and branding elements of “Epicenter.”
A major fire broke out in the building after it was hit. Footage shows open flames, thick smoke, and damage to the exterior structures.
According to preliminary information, no one was injured during the nighttime attack. However, the fire engulfed part of the shopping center, and the damage, judging by the published footage, may be significant.
Epicenter has not yet issued a separate statement regarding the consequences of the nighttime attack or the future operations of the Zaporizhzhia shopping center.

A private home was damaged in Zaporizhzhia
During the same attack, a private residential home was damaged. The blast wave shattered windows there and destroyed the gate and fence.
A fire also broke out near the house. Firefighters extinguished it. According to preliminary data from the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, no residents were injured.
Information on the number of damaged apartments, houses, and other civilian structures is being verified.
When will power be restored to 1,200 customers?
The Russian strike damaged not only civilian buildings but also the city’s electrical infrastructure.
According to the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, approximately 1,200 customers in one of Zaporizhzhia’s districts are without power.
Utility workers will be able to begin emergency repair work once the security situation allows. The exact time for the restoration of power has not yet been announced.
The duration of the outage will depend on:
- the nature of the damage to the power grid;
- repair crews’ access to the affected area;
- the threat of further Russian strikes;
- the need to replace damaged equipment.
Zaporizhzhia was attacked for the second night in a row
The new attack came after one of the heaviest strikes on Zaporizhzhia in recent times.
On the night of August 11, Russian troops carried out a combined attack on the city. According to updated figures from regional authorities, seven people were killed and another 24 were wounded. Two of the injured were in critical condition.
Due to the loss of life, August 12 was declared a day of mourning in the Zaporizhzhia region.
During the previous strike, residential buildings, businesses, and industrial and energy facilities were damaged. The factory of the Ukrainian coffee producer Isla was also damaged.
Thus, over the course of two nights, Russian troops launched strikes against Zaporizhzhia’s residential, commercial, industrial, and energy infrastructure.
