Ukraine struck an “Iskander” missile plant in Russia with “Flamingo” missiles

On the night of Saturday, June 27, Volgograd in the Russian Federation came under a missile attack, which damaged an industrial facility in the city’s Chervonozhovtnevy District. This was reported by Andriy Bocharov, governor of the Volgograd Region. According to preliminary data, the target of the strike was the “Titan-Barikady” defense plant, which manufactures launchers for the “Iskander-M” and “Topol-M” missile systems, reports "Komersant Ukrainian".
Denis Shtilerman, founder of the company that manufactures the Ukrainian “Flamingo” missiles, posted a video on the social media platform X which, according to him, shows the launch of five missiles.
“Volgograd is welcoming the seasonal migration of flamingos from Ukraine. More to come,” he wrote.
The published video also includes footage from Ukrainian monitoring channels showing explosions in Volgograd.

Local residents reported a series of explosions around 4 a.m. local time. Videos have appeared online, one of which appears to show a missile striking an industrial facility. On the eve of the attack, Rosaviatsia announced the temporary closure of Volgograd Airport.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, the facility is part of Roscosmos and manufactures self-propelled launchers for the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile systems, autonomous launchers for the “Topol-M” system, artillery units equipped with “Msta-S” self-propelled howitzers, and other military equipment.
Andrei Bocharov confirmed the attack by Ukrainian “high-speed aerial targets,” but did not specify which facility was hit. According to him, “production facilities at one of the enterprises in Volgograd’s Chervonozhovtnevy District were damaged.” According to the company’s official address, the Titan-Barikady plant is located in this very district.
Neither the Russian Ministry of Defense nor the Ukrainian military had provided official data on the results of the strike at the time of publication.
