On Friday, June 12, the weather in Ukraine will become significantly more unstable. Forecasters predict rain, thunderstorms, heavy downpours in some areas, squalls, hail, and sharp temperature contrasts between regions. It will get noticeably cooler in the west of the country, while the east will still see temperatures reaching 30 degrees. According to her, the change in weather will be caused by an atmospheric front moving in from the west and gradually covering most regions of Ukraine.
According to Natalka Didenko’s forecast, a wide range of weather phenomena is expected in Ukraine on June 12—from rain and thunderstorms to squalls and hail.
“The atmospheric front will bring all these colorful ‘candy’ weather phenomena. It will move in from the west, so as early as tomorrow, June 12, temperatures in our western regions will drop to 11–15 degrees,” the meteorologist reported.
Rain is forecast in many regions due to the passage of the atmospheric front. Precipitation will spread across the country gradually as the front moves forward.
“Rain is expected everywhere as the atmospheric front moves through. At times, the rain may turn into heavy downpours, and there is a high probability of thunderstorms,” Didenko noted.
Where will it be coldest
The western regions of Ukraine will feel the most noticeable drop in temperature on Friday. There, daytime temperatures will drop to 11–15 degrees.
This will be a significant contrast to the previous warm days and to the weather in other regions of the country. Due to rain and gusty winds in the west, the weather may feel even cooler.

Where else will it be hot
Despite the cooling in the west, summer heat will persist in the eastern regions on June 12. There, air temperatures may rise to 27–30 degrees.
In most regions of Ukraine, temperatures are expected to reach 24–28 degrees during the day. Thus, the temperature contrast between the west and the east will be very noticeable.
Thunderstorms, squalls, and hail
On Friday, Ukraine may see not only rain but also dangerous weather phenomena. The meteorologist warns of the likelihood of thunderstorms, heavy downpours, squalls, and hail.
Due to the unstable weather, Ukrainians should be careful on the roads, avoid parking cars under trees, and stay away from billboards during strong winds.
Weather in Kyiv on June 12
Weather conditions are also expected to deteriorate in Kyiv on Friday. Rain and thunderstorms are forecast for the capital.
The air temperature will drop slightly as a cold front approaches Kyiv. Daytime temperatures are expected to reach around 24 degrees.
