Emergency power outages have been implemented in Kyiv due to damage to facilities at the regional power distribution hub. The city has experienced disruptions in water supply and electric transit service, and warming centers are being set up in the areas hardest hit. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing a statement by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

According to Klitschko, Russian shelling has caused significant damage to both power generation and transmission systems throughout Ukraine.

“The situation with the power supply in Kyiv is extremely difficult. The enemy continues to destroy Ukraine’s unified power grid. Both power generation and transmission have been damaged throughout the country. In addition, facilities at the Kyiv regional power hub have been damaged as a result of attacks in recent days. Therefore, Ukrenergo has implemented emergency power outages. Power engineers are working to restore power,” Klitschko said.

The emergency situation in the power grid has directly affected the capital’s critical infrastructure:

Water supply: service disruptions have occurred. Specialists from “Kyivvodokanal” are currently doing everything possible to stabilize the system and fully restore the water supply.

Transportation: Disruptions have been reported in public electric transit.

Warming centers: Special centers are being set up in areas where the power outage is most severe. There, residents of the capital can charge their phones and other devices, as well as warm up and drink hot tea.
