Almost 650 Russian drones have been intercepted in the Kyiv region over the four months of the Clear Sky pilot project. This was announced by the head of the Kyiv Regional Air Defense Administration Mykola Kalashnyk, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“Four months ago, an experimental project was born in the Kyiv region that changes the methods of air warfare – Clear Sky. When enemy kamikaze drones tried to sow terror in our towns and villages, we, together with the military, found the answer: we developed our own tactics – drones intercepting drones, protecting people and homes from the air threat,” Kalashnyk said.

A pilot training center has already been set up in Kyiv region to train a new generation of defenders of Ukrainian skies. Thanks to the work of the training center, the number of crews has tripled.

Funds from the regional budget, Kyiv region communities, and businesses were raised to implement the project. It is thanks to the help of business that the military can receive a financial reward for each drone shot down.

“The most important thing is that the project is being scaled up to other regions of Ukraine. The experience gained in the Kyiv region is being shared with all regions that need such protection,” said Kalashnyk.
