Zelenskyy warned of the threat of a massive Russian attack: do not ignore the alerts

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has urged Ukrainians to pay close attention to air raid sirens. According to him, Ukrainian intelligence has information that Russia is preparing a new large-scale attack on Ukrainian territory.
The head of state made this statement in an evening address, reports "Komersant Ukrainian"
The president said that Ukraine has received intelligence indicating that Russia is preparing a new massive attack.
“We have intelligence information regarding Russia’s preparations for a new massive strike. Please heed air raid alerts—protect your lives,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukrainian intelligence agencies, the Air Force, and other defenders of the skies will be working around the clock, but citizens must also follow safety rules and not ignore danger warnings.
The head of state emphasized that during an air raid alert, Ukrainians should immediately head to a shelter or remain in a safe place.
“Our emergency services are prepared; the Air Force and other defenders of the skies will be working 24/7, as always,” the president added.

Ukrainians urged not to ignore air raid sirens
Against the backdrop of warnings about a possible massive strike, the authorities are once again stressing: ignoring an air raid siren could cost you your life.
During missile and drone attacks, danger can arise not only from direct hits but also from falling debris from downed targets, shock waves, fires, and infrastructure damage.
That is why, when the air raid siren sounds, you must:
- take cover;
- stay away from windows;
- avoid open areas;
- do not film air defense operations;
- do not post photos or videos of the aftermath before official reports are released;
- Follow information only from official sources.
Strengthening air defense remains a key priority
Separately, Zelenskyy emphasized that strengthening Ukraine’s air defense remains one of the main tasks in cooperation with international partners.
The President thanked the countries that are fulfilling their commitments and helping Ukraine strengthen its air defense.
According to the head of state, Ukraine needs a stable supply of missiles for its air defense systems, particularly the Patriot system.
“The PURL program must work—this applies to both the United States and Europe. We are pooling funds from European partners and other friends to purchase missiles, particularly for the Patriots, and a sufficient supply depends on America. We hope that Ukraine will be heard,” Zelenskyy stated.
What is PURL and why is it important
The PURL program is one of the mechanisms that allows partners to finance the purchase of necessary weapons for Ukraine. In the context of air defense, missiles for Patriot systems and other air defense complexes remain particularly important.
This is critical for Ukraine, as Russia regularly employs combined attacks: cruise and ballistic missiles, strike drones, as well as means that complicate the work of air defense systems.
A sufficient stockpile of interceptor missiles allows for more effective protection of cities, energy infrastructure, industrial facilities, and the civilian population.
