The dollar hits record highs, the euro surges: exchange rates as of June 10

10 June 08:22

The National Bank of Ukraine set the official exchange rates for June 10, and the U.S. dollar once again hit a record high. Following this latest surge, the dollar rose to 44.84 hryvnia, gaining another 33 kopecks over the past 24 hours. At the same time, the euro also rose sharply and came very close to its previous record, reports "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the National Bank.

According to NBU data, on Wednesday, June 10, 1 U.S. dollar is worth 44.84 UAH, 1 euro is worth 51.89 UAH, and 1 Polish zloty is worth 12.24 UAH. Thus, all three major currencies showed growth, but it was the dollar that once again became the main news of the currency market.

The dollar set a new all-time high

The official dollar exchange rate on June 10 reached 44.84 UAH, which is 33 kopecks more than the day before.

On June 9, the National Bank set the exchange rate for the U.S. currency at 44.51 UAH, which was already a record at the time.

Now the dollar has once again set a new high and continued its streak of record highs from early June. This means that the hryvnia continues to weaken against the U.S. currency, and the dollar exchange rate remains one of the main indicators of tension in the financial market.

The euro nearly repeated its record

The European currency also rose sharply in value on June 10. The NBU set the exchange rate at 51.89 UAH per euro, which is 54 kopecks more than the day before.

For comparison, on June 9, the official euro exchange rate was 51.35 UAH, so the current rise has been very noticeable. At the same time, the euro’s current all-time high has held since April 22—when the rate reached 51.91 UAH.

Thus, the current rate is only 2 kopecks below the record.

The zloty also rose

The Polish zloty also gained value on June 10. The National Bank set its official exchange rate at 12.24 UAH, which is 14 kopecks higher than the previous day.

The zloty’s rise is particularly important for Ukrainians who work, study, or have ongoing financial ties with Poland.
