German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius arrived in Kyiv on Monday, May 11. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing DW.

According to the media outlet, during the visit, which was not announced in advance, he plans to discuss with Ukrainian government officials issues of cooperation between the two countries in the field of armaments. “Germany and Ukraine are strategic partners who both benefit from cooperation. This gives rise to a multitude of new projects,” the minister explained.

According to him, the focus is on the joint development of the latest unmanned weapon systems of various ranges, in particular long-range drones for so-called “deep strike” operations.

“The German government is committed to establishing new German-Ukrainian joint ventures,” Pistorius said. “At the same time, we benefit from the Ukrainians’ battlefield experience,” he noted.

In addition, the German government intends to support developers through the Brave1 platform, created by the Ukrainian government for investments and procurement in the arms sector.
