For the first time in history, the Ukrainian men’s national volleyball team has entered the top ten of the world rankings for men’s national teams. This came after a four-set victory over Canada in the 2026 Nations League, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

The “Blue-and-Yellows” secured their third victory of the second week of competition—defeating Canada after previously beating Brazil, ranked third in the world (3-1 in sets), and world champions Italy (3-0).

Ahead of the match against Canada, the “Blue-and-Yellows” had earned 16.89 points following their victory over Italy and secured 14th place in the world rankings. Argentina was ahead of the Ukrainian national team, but the gap was only about one point—a victory would have given the Ukrainians a chance to move up several spots.

Thanks to the victory over Canada, Ukraine added 7.7 points to its tally and climbed to ninth place—for the first time in history, the Ukrainians made it into the top 10 of the world rankings. After the match, the “blue-and-yellows” were ahead of five teams—Canada, Turkey, Argentina, Germany, and Serbia.
