The “Gomin” Choir has officially been entered into the Record Book—impressive tour figures

The “Gomin” Municipal Choir of the Lviv Organ Hall and the tour organizer TEATR ORG have officially been entered into the National Register of Records of Ukraine. Over the course of one calendar year, the ensemble gave 385 concerts, according to TEATR ORG and the official page of the “Gomin” choir, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian"

The achievement was registered in the category “Largest Concert Tour in Ukrainian History.” Performances held from August 1, 2025, to July 31, 2026, were counted toward the record.

385 concerts in 365 days

The “Gomin” choir’s record means that the number of performances exceeded the number of days in a typical calendar year by 20.

According to the editorial team’s calculations, during the record-breaking period, the group performed an average of:

  • more than 32 concerts per month;
  • about 7.4 concerts per week;
  • about 1.05 concerts every day.

In some cities, the choir performed twice in a single day. Such a schedule required not only the performers’ physical endurance but also constant coordination of travel, rehearsals, technical support, and venue operations.

The official presentation of the record-breaking award took place on August 16 in Kyiv on the stage of the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater.

How “This Dream” Became a Touring Phenomenon

One of the main catalysts for “Gomon”’s rapid rise in popularity was their performance of Stepan Giga’s song “This Dream.” The video of the performance garnered millions of views on social media and attracted a new audience to the academic choir.

Following this digital success, the ensemble prepared a concert program titled “This Choir, This Choir…,” which featured new choral arrangements of Ukrainian songs. Among them are works by Volodymyr Ivasyuk, Ihor Shamo, Ihor Bilozir, and Anatoliy Kos-Anatolskyi.

At the same time, “Homin” has not abandoned its traditional repertoire. As noted on the ensemble’s page on the Lviv Organ Hall website, the choir performs Ukrainian folk, insurgent, and patriotic songs, sacred music, Christmas carols, and works by Ukrainian and Western composers.

Thus, the popularity of “This Dream” was not a one-time viral hit, but rather a gateway to a much broader Ukrainian musical repertoire.

85 concerts in 72 days

The intensity of the tour is also evidenced by the results of the separate “This Choir. This Choir 2.0” tour. According to the official “Gomon” page, it covered 40 cities, and over the course of 72 days, the artists held 85 concerts.

In other words, just during this tour alone, the choir performed, on average, more than once a day. In some cities, due to high demand, the organizers had to add extra concerts.

The overall reach of this record-breaking year turned out to be even broader. The group performed in dozens of Ukrainian cities, went on a European tour, and held concerts in the U.S. and Canada.
